7 DAYS AT MILLERS LOFT
A suggestion of the best things to do in a seven day holiday.
Surf lessons at Gwithian
Gwithian beach is one of the most beautiful on the north coast. It's located near Hayle, forming part of the longer Three Mile Beach within St Ives Bay. The beach is backed by sand dunes and cliffs, and is a favourite for surfers due to the consistent swell and cross-shore winds. Park at Gwithian Towans long stay car park and visit Global boarders for your surf lesson. Once finished the Sunset Cafe serves delicious lunches.
St Michaels Mount
An iconic rocky island crowned by a medieval church and castle. Immerse yourself in the history, tales and legends of this spectacular place. You can arrive by boat or walk across the cobbled causeway at low tide. With incredible views of Mount's Bay and the Lizard. The garden clings to the granite cliff face and for many it is astonishing that a garden exists at all. Well worth a visit.
Minack Theatre
The iconic Minack Theatre is a unique, open-air venue, set on the side of a cliff. It was created by Rowena Cade who spent a lifetime designing and building the structures. It really is an incredible place. They are very busy throughout the summer months so advance booking is essential for all visits.
The Jubilee Pool
UK's largest and most celebrated Art Deco seawater Lido with geothermal pool! Located on the Penzance seafront, no visit to West Cornwall is complete without a visit here.
Trengwaiton Gardens
Trengwainton is a National Trust garden situated in Madron, near Penzance, which has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1961. The garden is noted for its collection of exotic trees and shrubs and offers views over Mount's Bay and The Lizard.
Seal spotting at Godrevy
Get your timing right with this one and plan your visit for low tide. At high tide the beach disappears and seals take to the sea to catch their dinner. Time it right though and you’ll be in for a real treat. Mutton Cove, just past Godrevy head, is home to a large colony of Grey Seals, which can be seen throughout the year. Numbers begin to increase in Autumn, and by January you can see up to a hundred! Park in the National Trust Car Park at Godrevy..
Train to St Ives
Park your car at St Erth station park and hop on the scenic St Ives line and be in St Ives in under 15 minutes. If you sit on the right side of the train you can enjoy the wonderful views of the north coast beaches. Trains are every half an hour and only costs a few pounds return.
